ONeill Mens Hyperfreak 2mm Chest Zip Spring Suit
The O’Neill Mens Hyperfreak 2mm Chest Zip Spring Suit is a top tier springy, you won’t even know it’s on, but then you’ll realise you’re warm for some reason… Its 2mm thickness provides full coverage, making it ideal for mid-season surfing in Australia. The Technobutter 3X neoprene is incredibly supple, warm, and stretchy. Made from recycled materials including discarded oyster shells and old car tires, it’s not only environmentally friendly but also feels amazing against the skin. The GBS (Glued and Blindstitched) seams offer maximum stretch and are sealed to prevent water ingress. The chest zip design ensures unrestricted back stretch and reduces water infiltration. With its contortionist seamless shoulder and double super seal collar, this wetsuit offers superior mobility and a secure fit. Made with eco-conscious materials, including dope-dyed yarn jersey and eco carbon black in neoprene, the O’Neill Mens Hyperfreak 2mm Chest Zip Spring Suit is every surfer’s dream.
To get the most out of your O’Neill Mens Hyperfreak 2mm Chest Zip Spring Suit we recommend washing it with the Australian made Wetsuit Wash, reading our Wetsuit Maintenance Guide and hanging it on a Wetsuit Hanger.
O’Neill Mens Hyperfreak 2mm Chest Zip Spring Suit
- Thickness – 2mm: full coverage in 2mm, the midway mark of surfing neoprenes in Australia and the perfect mid-season thickness for most of us. In QLD you can definitely get away with 2mm in winter.
- Neoprene – Technobutter 3X needs to be felt to be believed – supple like melted butter, warm also like melted butter and stretchy like some kind of super stretchy butter, if such a thing exists. Better still, this latest version is made up of recycled plastic, discarded oyster shells, old car tyres and limestone neoprene (derived from limestone, not petroleum production).
- Seam/Stitch – GBS: Glued and Blindstitched seams are the stretchiest stitched seam thanks to the expanding nature of the stitch but better still the seams is sealed! A hooked needle is used to stitch the suit without creating any pin-holes through the entire panel that would let water in, the seam is then bonded with an elastic glue to provide durability and further sealing.
- Zip – Chest Zip: the zip is positioned across the upper torso, this means that your back stretch is no longer inhibited and being that the zip is 1/2 or less length than a backzip, the amount of water ingress because of the zip is halved. Warm and stretchy, the two things we all want from our wetty.
- Limestone: Neoprene derived from Limestone is touted to be a more environmental method for producing the foamy, rubber-esque material that lives in the middle of the neoprene sandwich.
- Aqua Alpha Solvent Free Lamination: ditch the nasty glues and take Aqua-α solvent free route, its better for everyone/everything.
- Double super seal collar: two layers in the collar creates a better seal against the neck and reduces rashing because the inner layer isn’t fixed to the outer.
- Contortionist seamless shoulder: get those shoulders rotating with ease thanks to O’Neill’s seamless shoulder panel.
- Dope Dyed Yarn Jersey: more efficient and environmentally friendly then piece dying – instead of knitting/weaving and then dying, dope dye yarns the material itself is coloured in before hand.
- Made with recycled materials: Plastic, car tyres, discarded oyster shells and more!!
- Eco Carbon Black In Neoprene: long story short: old car tyres are melted (not burnt) in a process called pyrolysis. Its then turned into a better kind of rubber (your wetsuit!). About 35% of the total weight derived from a recycled tyre is Carbon Black.
